Recipe Not Extracting Correctly
What to do when Nibbley's AI doesn't extract a recipe properly or fails to find recipe content.
Last updated: 1 April 2026
If Nibbley isn’t extracting a recipe correctly, here are some steps to resolve the issue.
Common Causes
The page doesn’t contain a recipe
Some links may not contain recipe content (e.g., a general blog post, news article, or non-cooking video). The AI needs cooking-related content to extract a recipe.
Private or restricted content
If the source is a private Instagram account or behind a paywall, Nibbley can’t access the content.
Poor internet connection
Extraction requires a stable internet connection. Try again on WiFi.
Unusual recipe format
Some websites use non-standard formatting that makes extraction harder.
How to Fix
Try Again
Sometimes a second attempt resolves temporary issues. Tap Retry Extraction.
Use a Different Link
If you found the recipe through a social media post that links to a blog, try using the direct blog URL instead.
Manual Entry
If AI extraction isn’t working:
- Tap Add Recipe Manually
- Copy and paste the recipe text from the source
- Nibbley will try to structure it automatically
- Edit as needed and save
Report the Issue
Help us improve by reporting problematic links:
- Tap Report Issue on the extraction screen
- The link will be sent to our team for review
- We’ll improve our AI to handle similar content in the future
